We built these modern infrared bathroom heaters with one simple goal in mind: turning a cold, damp bathroom into a warm, welcoming space in seconds. The secret? A high-output halogen lamp, running at 400V and pulling 2500W of power. That combination packs a lot of heat into a small space, so you feel the warmth almost instantly without needing a giant unit. And the lamp is kept short—about 300mm long. That means it fits into tight spots, like right over your mirror or near the shower. No major remodel needed. Just plug it into your existing layout and you’re good to go.
Material and Electrical Design
The heating element itself is a halogen-filled quartz tube. The halogen gas lets the filament run hotter without wearing out, so the heat stays steady over time. Quartz handles the shock of turning on and off quickly, and it sends out shortwave infrared energy efficiently. Plus, the tube has a reflective coating that pushes more of that radiant heat forward—right where you need it. For installation, we use an R7s connector. It’s a double-ended base that gives a solid connection, makes replacing the lamp easy, and keeps the wiring clean and simple. It also handles thermal expansion well, so you don’t get hot spots that lead to failures.
Application and Performance Trade-offs
In a bathroom—especially around the shower or changing area—this heater warms people and surfaces directly, not just the air. So you feel that warmth almost immediately, the kind you expect from a high-end space. Now, here’s the trade-off: 2500W means serious heat in one spot. So you’ve got to plan your ventilation and mounting distance. Keep the clearances right, manage the airflow, and the system will run reliably. For engineers, that means a simple, drop-in install that delivers fast comfort with almost no downtime.
