Bath time is usually peaceful—until the room turns chilly and the baby starts crying, not from fun, but because the heat lamp is too harsh on their eyes. We built an infrared bathroom heater that delivers radiant warmth without forcing anyone to squint.
What matters, technically
Infrared warmth is radiant heat—it warms people and surfaces directly, not the air. Our bathroom heater uses a near-infrared (NIR) quartz element, tuned to put out comforting heat with a gentle glow. The spectrum is managed to cut down on blue-light exposure, and the filament runs cooler than halogen, so the light is easier on sensitive eyes. We match the output to a bathroom-sized space—typically 1500W—so you get quick, even coverage. The unit is designed for standard 120V household wiring. For safety, it includes a built-in thermal cutoff and a tip-over switch to help prevent overheating and accidental contact.
Why it works in the bathroom
In a bathroom, comfort has to show up fast. With this heater, you feel warmth within seconds, so bath time doesn’t become a scramble. The soft, filtered glow gives you enough light to see and wash, without the glare that makes everyone tense up. That matters when you’re bathing an infant: warm bodies, calm eyes, fewer tears. The focused radiant heat also helps cut down on drafts and that damp chill that clings to tiles and mirrors—so the whole routine feels steadier.
The practical details
This is a radiant heater, not a substitute for ventilation. Keep it at least 3 feet away from water sources, and stick to the clearances on the label. It installs easily into most standard fixtures. If your wiring is older, or you plan to hardwire it, bring in a licensed electrician. That’s the clean way to get the job done safely and to code.
