If you bake the surface too hard or leave it in too long, you end up &amp;ldquo;over-curing&amp;rdquo; it. The result? A dull, flat finish that looks cheap.&#xA;To fix this, we use short-wave infrared (IR) lamps. Instead of just heating the air and hoping for the best, these lamps hit the solvent molecules directly. It pushes the solvents out from the bottom up.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Why this actually works&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Here’s the thing: short-wave IR actually penetrates the coating. It gets those solvent molecules vibrating and forces them to evaporate fast.&#xA;This stops &amp;ldquo;skinning&amp;rdquo;—that annoying problem where the top layer dries first and traps wet solvent underneath. If that happens, you get pinholes and that dreaded orange peel texture. By targeting the solvent specifically, we don&amp;rsquo;t have to soak the metal rim in heat. This keeps the metallic flakes sitting exactly where they should be for that deep, mirror-like gloss.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Efficiency and Power&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Nobody wants to waste money heating a giant tunnel of air. That&amp;rsquo;s why we use high power density in a small space. These lamps hit their operating temperature in seconds.&#xA;We call it &amp;ldquo;zone heating.&amp;rdquo; You only apply the heat exactly when the rim is sitting under the lamp. It&amp;rsquo;s simple, and it saves a ton of kilowatts.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The Trade-offs&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;It’s not all magic, though. High-intensity IR lamps pull a lot of juice. If you&amp;rsquo;re running a bank of 2kW+ tubes, your wiring and contactors need to be beefy enough to handle the surge.&#xA;And you have to be careful with your timing. These lamps create intense, localized heat. If your conveyor belt stutters or slows down for a second, you&amp;rsquo;ll scorch the coating. Your line speed and the lamp&amp;rsquo;s &amp;ldquo;dwell time&amp;rdquo; have to be perfectly synced.&#xA;To make it easier, we suggest adding a pyrometer for a feedback loop. It keeps the rim surface right in that sweet spot for a perfect finish while using as little electricity as possible.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
