
Stop Throwing Away Your Bathroom Mirrors
Most of us install a mirror heater and then completely forget it exists. That is, until five years down the road when the humidity and constant heating-and-cooling finally take their toll, and the heating element just… quits. Now, here is the problem: if the heating tube is welded right into the frame, you’re stuck. The whole unit becomes a giant piece of scrap metal. It’s a waste. We do things differently. We use a modular setup.
Why modular actually matters
We design these heaters so the infrared tubes aren’t permanent. Instead of welding everything shut, we use standardized sockets and snap-in brackets. If a tube dies, you don’t have to rip the entire mirror assembly off the wall. You just swap the dead tube for a fresh one. It turns a nightmare of a renovation into a ten-minute job. No rewiring the main board. No stress. Just pull the old one out and drop a new one in.
Dealing with the steam
Bathrooms are brutal on electronics. You’ve got steam sneaking through seals and metal expanding and contracting every time you take a shower. Eventually, that filament just gets too thin and snaps. When that happens, you only replace the part that actually broke. To make this work, we use spring-loaded clips. They keep the tubes snug, but they give the quartz a little room to breathe and expand as it heats up. It’s a simple fix that saves the hardware from cracking under pressure.
The tricky part: Getting the fit right
Now, making things removable isn’t always easy. If the fit is too loose, the mirror starts to rattle or vibrate, and the heat doesn’t transfer properly. It feels cheap. That’s why we’re obsessive about the slot dimensions. Everything has to line up perfectly. And we can’t ignore the connections. Loose plugs lead to voltage drops, which means your mirror gets cold spots. To stop that, we use high-temp connectors that don’t oxidize in the damp air. It keeps the resistance low and ensures the glass stays warm and clear from edge to edge.
